Susan Mallette was elected to the Municipality of the County of Inverness Council in October 2008 representing District 5 Mabou and Port Hood.

Susan and her husband Luc Lapointe have resided in the Port Hood area for 35 years, where they have raised and educated their daughter and two sons; Genevieve, Matthieu and Hughes.

Susan is a dedicated community volunteer. Over the years she has been actively involved with many organizations acting as a volunteer member or as a board member. She has a genuine interest in the well being of her community and of its residents. She believes that listening to the people and working along with them can bring great results; a philosophy she brings to the job as councilor for District 5.
