Get a taste of life in a rural Cape Breton community over the past two hundred years. A collection of artifacts traces the history of the fishing, farming, mining and lumbering life of this historic sea side community. View our collection of over four hundred Chestico House Histories, stories of Pioneer People and special historic events, plus a 1997 poster display on musical instruments. Check out our genealogical information on local families plus our collection of black and white photographs. Come to the Chestico Ceilidh at the Museum on July 31st during our community Festival - Chestico Days. Treat yourself to the Stepdancing Festival we sponsor on Saturday, August 2nd at the Port Hood Arena - Nova Scotia's only Stepdancing Festival. A gift shop on site sells local handicrafts, plus a variety of books, CD's, and tapes of local authors and musicians.
