The Society was set up to create an awareness among the Acadians of the region, to preserve their heritage, as well as to promote their intellectual, social, economic and cultural interests. The building known as 'Les Trois Pignons', managed by the Society, serves as a cultural, information and genealogical center. The museum exhibits a wide collection of interesting objects. The Galerie Elizabeth LeFort Gallery, displays the magnificent tapestries of Dr Elizabeth LeFort, along with other fine hooked rugs of the area.
